Amoxicillin is a broad-spectrum semisynthetic penicillin (beta-lactam antibiotic), it causes antibacterial effect. Amoxicillin PhT can be used in children and adults for the treatment of the following infections: - acute bacterial sinusitis; - acute otitis media; - acute streptococcal tonsillitis and pharyngitis; - acute exacerbation of chronic bronchitis; - community-acquired pneumonia; - acute cystitis; - asymptomatic bacteriuria in pregnancy; - acute pyelonephritis; - typhoid fever; - lateral abscess with spreading inflammation of adjacent tissues; - infections of prosthetic joints; - eradication of Helicobacter pylori; - Lyme disease. Amoxicillin PhT can be used to prevent endocarditis.
